Roundtable Discussion: Letting Go of Perfect
Join us for an afternoon of honest conversation, connection, and fresh air as we gather in the Boston Public Garden for our eighth HerSector Roundtable. We'll meet at 1:45 PM at the Arlington Street/Commonwealth Avenue entrance to the Boston Public Garden and walk to our picnic spot together. The roundtable begins at 2:00 PM.
This month's theme, Letting Go of Perfect, invites us to explore how perfectionism shows up in our work and creative lives and what becomes possible when we embrace progress, authenticity, and self-compassion instead. Together, we'll reflect on the pressure to "have it all figured out," the fear of making mistakes, and how perfectionism can keep us from taking risks, sharing our ideas, asking for opportunities, or celebrating our accomplishments.
We'll also reflect on the unique pressures many women and women-identifying professionals face in both professional and creative spaces. From imposter syndrome and unrealistic expectations to the pressure to constantly prove ourselves, we'll explore how these experiences can fuel perfectionism and how we can begin to let go of it together.
This gathering is a potluck picnic! We'll provide a few snacks, and you're encouraged (though not required) to bring a favorite snack, drink, or treat to share. Whether you bring something or simply bring yourself, we'd love to have you join us for an afternoon of meaningful conversation, community, and connection.
